KEMPTON Park SAPS is still looking for the fraudster pictured for cases of fraud committed in Kempton Park as well as other suburbs.
In an article published in Express on December 19, a Kempton man had lost R2 300 in a scam after he had paid a deposit for an iPod he had seen advertised on OLX.
In a more recent incident, a 41-year-old woman was tricked out of her computer she was selling online.
According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, the fraudster contacted the woman via email and they made arrangements for the sale.
“He wrote her, using the name Andrew Kalala, to tell her that he was interested in buying the computer and said he would deposit R20 000 into her account via EFT,” said Mtshali.
On December 26 she received an sms as well as an email confirming that the amount had been deposited into her account.
“She was then contacted by Kalala again to make arrangements for someone to collect the computer,” added Mtshali.
The woman said Kalala sent a woman named Juliette to collect the computer. She was driving a red Camry with registration number HDF 203 GP. The police have since established that the registration number is false.
The man is wanted for similar incidents of fraud and has previously used the names David Maphosa or Richardson Baron.
