TWO men were arrested on January 18 in separate incidents for possession of suspected stolen goods.
“An 18-year-old man was arrested at about 1.30am after he was stopped by police with a vacuum cleaner in his possession. He could not account where he got it from and was arrested,” said Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Jethro Mtshali.
Later that morning another man was nabbed after he was found in possession of boxes of flavoured stock cubes on Pretoria Road.
“Police were patrolling when they spotted a suspicious looking man carrying a large plastic bag. When he was stopped and searched, he could not give a valid reason as to why he had the items in his possession,” said Mtshali.
An additional suspect was arrested on Commissioner Street at about 9.45am when she was found in possession of rims and tyres.
“D/Sgt Seloba was conducting his duties and following up a lead on a suspect. Upon arrival at the house he found the 27-year-old woman who lived there. He questioned her regarding the rims and wheels and she could not account for them and was arrested,” he said.
In an unrelated incident another man (24) was arrested on January 19 after he was found in possession of 55.4 grams of dagga. Police stopped him at about 10pm when they saw him carrying a plastic bag on Park Street. Police searched him and found the dagga in the bag.
