THREE suspected house robbers were arrested during a combined operation of Norkem Park SAPS’ detectives and the police’s tactical response unit of Tembisa Cluster.
Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesman for Norkem Park SAPS, said the officers reacted on a tip-off of two suspected house robbers wanted in Mpumalanga.
The first suspect (35) was nabbed at 5.30am last week Thursday in Esselen Park. He had R17 000 cash as well as a black Renault, used during a house robbery in Mpumalanga, in his possession.
The other two suspects, aged 23 and 24, were arrested shortly after in Ivory Park. They had R32 000 cash in their possession, as well as two suspected stolen vehicles, a silver grey Toyota Corolla and white Toyota Venture, a police uniform jacket, police hand radio, an unlicensed 9mm firearm, one magazine and four live rounds in their possession.
Molokomme said one of the men was also a suspect in a murder case, opened in September 2013 in Limpopo.
The three men’s four accomplices are still at large.
The three will face charges of possession of robbed money and suspected stolen goods and will be handed over to Ogies SAPS to also face charges of house robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of stolen property.
