Cousins serve as head girls
They were born two days apart and are as close as sisters
BORN two days apart, and then elected as head girls at the same time – how often does that happen?
Hardly ever! But this happened when Arbor Primary in Benoni and Laerskool Bredell picked two cousins as their head girls for 2014.
Jenna O’Donovan is at Laerskool Bredell and cousin Nicole (Nikki) de Beer at Arbor Primary.
Nicole’s home language is Afrikaans and she is in an English school and Jenna’s is English, while she attends an Afrikaans school.
Jenna was born in Midrand on April 25, 2001, and Nicole in Klerksdorp on April 27.
Nicole’s parents moved to Johannesburg when she was a year old and the cousins became very close, sharing all their milestones together. They started their school careers apart from each other as Jenna’s parents then moved to the Free State.
After being there for five years, they moved back to Johannesburg and Jenna started her gr 6 year at Bredell. There she stood out head and shoulders above her peers and was elected head girl (voorsitter) for 2014 on November 27 last year.
Jenna plays tennis, hockey and netball for her school. She also took part in the eisteddfod and debating and got academic colours in 2013.
Nicole has been a pupil of Arbor Primary for six years. She has obtained colours in swimming, eisteddfod and academic since 2011, and
merit awards for drama and netball in 2013.
She was elected head girl for 2014 on November 28.
Swimming is her favourite sport and she has been part of Swift Aquatics Club for three years.
These two cousins are very privileged and proud to be head girls of their schools and are ready for the big task ahead.
DRESSED alike when they were younger, cousins Jenna O’Donovan and Nikki de Beer.
