THREE suspected housebreakers were arrested in Esther Park at about 10am by Sebenza SAPS on Thursday.
Sharon Mahamba, spokesman for Sebenza SAPS, said the men were travelling in a silver Avanza when patrolling police spotted them.
According to her, the same car was spotted in Esther Park where a house was broken into the day before.
The police, suspecting something was wrong, stopped the car. Mahamba said the car then sped off and police gave chase.
The police managed to apprehend the three men, aged 27, 23 and 22.
They found the head of a pick-axe in the car, which police suspect the men used to break into the house.
Mahamba said they suspected these same men were linked to housebreakings in Esther Park over the past three weeks where a white Avanza was used.
