An 18-year-old girl from Winnie Mandela Zone 4 was arrested for perjury after opening a false rape case against her father.
Const Tebogo Sesing of Tembisa SAPS said the girl told the police she was relaxing with her brother in her room. Immediately after her brother left, her father entered the room and threatened her with a knife before raping her.
On Thursday last week, she went to the police station and wanted to withdraw the case.
After questioning her about why she wanted to cancel the case, she told the police that she was not raped. She said she opened the case because her father had punished her for falling in love with a foreigner,” said Const Sesing.
He added that a case of perjury was immediately opened and she was arrested.
