Sim murder trial continues

Several witnesses have already testified before the court

SIM murder accused, Eddie Fischer and Cheryl Delport, will appear again at Palm Ridge High Court on March 11 after their trial had been postponed.

According to Sebenza SAPS spokesman, Const Sharon Mahamba, the trial, which commenced on February 17, saw more than 10 witnesses take to the stand.

“There are still several other witnesses that still need to appear before the court and so it was postponed,” she said.

The two former lovers each face two counts of murder, one of arson and another of theft.

Leon Sim (71) and his wife, Marié (68) were murdered in their Cresslawn home on August 23, 2012. Mr Sim, a former magistrate, worked at Global Secondary School ,while his wife managed Annalien’s Guesthouse at the time of their deaths.

Fischer and Delport were guests at the couple’s guesthouse a few months prior to the murders.
