
SIX men were sentenced to 28 years imprisonment in total in Kempton Park Regional Court on charges of housebreaking and theft on March 5.
According to Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesman for Norkem Park SAPS, Makhi, Lucky, Godfrey and Gift Ndlovu, as well as Aleck Ncube and Carlos Ndebele, were all convicted of a break-in on August 2, 2012.
“The men were arrested by Norkem Park SAPS and a security officer from ADT after reacting to a complaint of housebreaking in progress at a house on Korhaan street, Birch Acres,” Molokomme said.
On the day, the owner of the house came back at about 7.30pm to find his house had been broken into. The lounge room window was forced open and property valued at R35 000 missing.
Three of the robbers were caught in the house and the rest were arrested later at Maeboye Section in Midrand. They were found in possession of stolen goods identified as that taken from the house on Korhaan Street.
