A red Toyota Corolla stolen in Ivory Park a day before, displaying false number plates, was recovered in Tembisa on Thursday last week.

Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said the driver (30) was arrested in a joint effort by the EMPD Crime Prevention Unit and police flying squad members.

Before being taken to the police station to register a docket, the suspect led the police to his place where various suspected stolen items, including numerous car radios, a television set and vehicle number plates, were found.

Charges of being in possession of a stolen vehicle, using of fake number plates and possession of suspected stolen property were laid against the suspect at Tembisa Police Station.
