A man was found after being severely beaten in Tswelopele on Thursday last week.
Despite being rushed to hospital, the man died of his injuries. The victim was found near Tswelopele Secondary School.
According to Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, the Ivory Park SAPS spokesperson, it is unknown who assaulted the victim.
“He was found by Olifantsfontein paramedics. The paramedics rushed the victim to the Tembisa Hospital, where and he was later certified dead,” she said.
W/O Sekgobela added that a case of murder was opened and is under investigation.
“We are appealing to family members or relatives to come and identify the body at the Germiston mortuary. We also appealing to anyone who may have information regarding to the matter to come forward or contact the Ivory Park SAPS on 011 990-9600. Residents are urged not to take the law into their own hands. They will be charged and arrested,” she said.
