An 18-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, drugged and raped on Sunday last week.
According to Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, the victim said she was on her way to fetch a gift for her mother shortly after 3pm.
“She claims a man grabbed her and forced her into his vehicle, a blue Mazda,” said W/O Sekgobela.
The victim was taken to a shack in the area, where the suspect forced her to drink some pills with juice. From then, the victim said she became dizzy.
“I could see that I was lying in a shack. After some time, I was put into the car and taken to some bushes near a shopping centre. I saw the man on top of me, but I could not do anything about it,” said the victim.
When the victim was finally capable of moving, she managed to catch a taxi from the new Olifantsfontein Shopping Centre to her house.
The victim subsequently opened a case of rape at the Ivory Park SAPS.
“I took my daughter for counselling as she could not eat or sleep. I just pray the suspect is found and arrested. He destroyed my daughter,” said the victim’s mother.
The suspect is unknown at this stage, but police officers are investigating.
