Pupils receive uniforms

For over 10 years, members of the Bakgotsi social club have kept their promise of helping needy pupils with school uniforms at Tembisa High School.
This comes after the club donated school uniforms to disadvantaged pupils on Wednesday last week.
The Tembisa-based club donated full school uniforms to 15 pupils at the school.
Club member Mr Uriah Moganedi, said it is their goal to make sure they raise enough funds to buy uniforms for needy pupils.
“We want these pupils to worry less about their looks or presentation around other pupils. We are doing this to encourage them to come to school and pay more attention to their education. We are committed to the school as most of our members are former pupils of the school,” he said.
The Tembisa High School principal, Mr Molamu Letsoalo, said they appreciate the partnership with the Bakgotsi Social Club.
“Their assistance has resulted in pupils proceeding up to matric, without having to pay school fees or buying school uniforms. Most of the pupils have not disappointed us and we do follow ups with them about their needs. Some have graduated with degrees and diplomas,” he said.
He added that they want to strengthen the partnership with Bakgotsi and raise more funds for needy pupils.
“We aim to organise a fundraising dinner and invite former students of the school and other stakeholders. We hope it will be successful,” he said.
