A man who was trying to help his sister was badly beaten up and threatened with a firearm.
The incident happened on April 23 on Valke Street in Birch Acres where a man was troubling the victim’s sister at her home.
According to Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesman for Norkem Park SAPS, the victim received a message from his sister, telling him about the man. The victim went over to investigate.
“On arrival at his sister’s place, the man was confronted by a male suspect who slapped him on his face, kicked him around and then pointed his gun at him,” Molokomme said.
According to the police, the suspect further bumped the complainant’s car when he left, causing damage to it.
“The police arrived on the scene at 6.40pm, arrested the male suspect and confiscated his firearm and ammunition.”
The firearm is licensed under the suspect’s name.
The suspect (34) will face charges of pointing a firearm, common assault and malicious damage to property.
