Revamped call centre to be opened today

The centre, which is located in Bedfordview, will be staffed by 250 call centre agents and eight supervisors

THE Ekurhuleni Services Call Centre, which has received a R7 million revamp, will officially be opened by the mayor today.

The call centre had been a source of huge frustration for residents over the past years.

The centre, which is located in Bedfordview, will also be staffed by 250 call centre agents and eight supervisors. The centre currently has 50 call centre agents and is operating with 12 per shift. This will increase to over 40 agents per shift.

In addition, the city’s life-threatening emergencies call centre will have a total staff compliment of 82, which will be allocated at 13 per shift.

“The municipality is finalising the process of recruiting the new call centre agents, who will be employed there. This will improve the turnaround times to life threatening and services emergencies,” said mayor Mondli Gungubele.

Service delivery interruptions may be reported to the municipal services call centre on 0860 543 0000 and on Twitter @EMM_Call_Centre. Updates available on @EMM_Call_Centre and @EMMInfo.
