Man nabbed for taking dirty pictures

Detectives from the Ivory Park SAPS arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly taking revealing photos of women without their consent.

The incident occurred in Ivory Park, Extension 2, on Wednesday last week.

According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, the suspect was taking pictures of women who were queuing for taxis at the Ivory Park taxi rank.

W/O Sekgobela added that the suspect realised some women do not wear underwear while taking long journeys or going to work.

“He was targeting women who wear skirts and dresses. He took pictures and videos of them. The suspect was using his cellular phone. He was noticed by a woman who was in the queue, waiting for a taxi, after he took pictures underneath her skirt and left. The woman informed the queue marshal and the police were called,” she added.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Ivory Park Police Station.

“His cellular phone was also confiscated for further investigations. The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on charges relating to sexual offences,”she concluded.
