MEMBER of the Mayoral Committee on Finance, Clr Moses Makwakwa, will deliver a multi-billion rand 2014/15 budget for Ekurhuleni on May 29.
The budget speech follows thorough consultative meetings with the communities of Ekurhuleni in which residents were given an opportunity to influence the budget allocations in terms of priorities important to them.
Ekurhuleni is set to deliver a people centred budget that will oil the city’s service delivery machinery, ensuring that all hands are on deck for heightened performance.
In light of this, the metro will meet with its chief stakeholders at a key customer forum breakfast to be held at Germiston Council Chambers this morning.
The main purpose of the forum is to create an opportunity between the metro and its patrons to deliberate around the new proposed tariffs and other future strategic plans such as the development of infrastructure networks.
There will be presentations by various metro departments, including water and sanitation, waste management services, finance, energy as well as the East Rand Water Care Company (ERWAT).
Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from the metro and ERWAT.
