Kids Festival to rock Tembisa
TS Productions will host a Kids' Festival at Moriting Park on June 15 and 16.
According to one of the organisers, Ms Patricia Mokwena, the aim of the festival is to guide children against abusing drugs and alcohol. The event also plans to teach children about respect and being responsible adults in the future.
“We realised that people start addressing drug and alcohol abuse when children are already trapped in this life threatening circle. We decided we have to start talking to them when they are still young. We also want them to know about their rights and what to to do if their rights are being infringed on, in society,” said Ms Mokwena.
Entry to the festival will cost R30 per day, while parents will only pay R15.
Transport in and around Tembisa will be provided at R30 per child. Alcohol will not be allowed into the venue and parents are reminded that toys are also not allowed.
Mr Archie Kadiaka added that security will be tight on the day. “We are doing this for the love of children, and we will never allow people to gatecrash the festival to make trouble,” he said.
