Tembisa Fighters lose to Tembisa United
Tembisa United FC beat the Tembisa Fighters 2-1 in a four-team tournament played at the Mvelaphanda Sports Grounds on Saturday last week.
The youngsters from Endulwini section took the game to the Fighters from the first whistle, forcing their opponents to play with their backs against the wall.
The local lads absorbed the pressure and managed to hold their opponents in the first half. The score sheet was still 0-0 at the end of the first half.
The visitors drew first blood six minutes into the second half when Lucky Mtsweni received a loose ball on the left, before dribbling past two defenders. He beat the ‘keeper with a low shot.
The hard-running Kutlwano Molapo increased the margin after he received a well-timed through-pass from Mtsweni, and sent in a scorcher which beat the ‘keeper.
Sello Mncube scored his team’s consolation goal in the dying minutes of the game. After the game, United FC’s coach, Siswe Mthimunye, said even though his team won, he was unhappy with his players’ performance.
“We did not play our normal game but I am happy lady luck was on our side today,” he said.
