Woman fights, arrest attacker

The incident took place in Tsepho section early on Sunday morning this week.

It is alleged the intruder surprised the victim at her home and pointed a firearm at her. The victim grabbed the man and managed to disarm him. She threw the firearm onto the roof.

Residents who heard her screaming while fighting the intruder, rushed to the scene and helped the victim overpower the suspect.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to officers from the Tembisa SAPS. The firearm was also confiscated by officers.

The 26-year-old suspect will appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.

“He is facing charges of possession of an illegal firearm, live ammunition and armed robbery,” said the Tembisa SAPS communications director, Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha.
