Cable theft being investigated

According to residents the perpetrators come every second night to tamper with the cables on Soutpansberg Drive

A case of cable theft has been opened by Sebenza SAPS after complaints from residents that someone was coming every second night to dig out cables on Soutpansberg Drive in Van Riebeeck Park.

According to Const Sharon Mahamba, spokesman for Sebenza SAPS, the case had been opened after their sector vehicles had attended to complaints about ongoing cable theft on the street.

One of the residents complained about “someone or some people coming every second night and digging out the cables on our street”.

According to the resident, the cable digging started about a month ago and they always come at night or the early hours of the morning.
