Matsakis at his best
Tembisa-based musician and producer, Solly "Matsakis" Mathebula, had Shangaan music lovers shouting for more when he performed at Enos Tavern on Saturday last week.
The lanky musician reminded many of the inimitable Shangaan disco king, Ben Mainganye. When he belted out his favourite song, “Rifura mashawa’, ladies jumped up and down shouting his name.
After his performance, he said his best is yet to come.
Mathebula brought 14 artists from his music stable, and they all gave their best. But none could match Maswanganyi, when it came to dancing skills.
When asked what makes him tick when he is on stage, he said it comes naturally.
“As soon as I am on stage, things come naturally. Sometimes when I look at some of the videos, I also ask if it is really me performing,” he said.
