Ngwenya joins VoT
Mr Lindokuhle Ngwenya, one of the Soweto TV presenters, has recently singed a permanent contract with the Voice of Tembisa (VoT).
Mr Ngwenya joined the new venture with VoT to air a two- hour children’s show called ‘Ayoba friends’. The show airs from 7am to 9am.
While at Soweto TV, he present a show called ‘Ikazi Labomuntuza’.
He also starred in a local popular drama, Rhythm City, as an extra.
Mr Ngwenya (22) said the cameras persuaded him to be on television.
“I love media as it keeps a person active and alive. I inspire myself because of the passion within me. My first time on television, I was given an opportunity by my agent Mr Collen to express myself. It brought out the best in me to have joined the media industry,” he added.
He was inspired by DJ Sbu, the presenter of Friends Like This on SABC 1, as he shares a similar background with him.
A Bcom Law student, Mr Ngwenya said he loves radio more because he enjoys listening to music.
“Being a radio presenter provides good channels for me to interact with people live on air. I love tackling issues that young people come across on a daily basis. Tembisa has a lot of talent. The youth needs support from the community instead of being called negative words. I hope my show with VoT will bring back positive thinking to those who have lost hope,” he said.
When asked where he wants to see himself in the future, he said he wants to operate a law firm to help the community with law issues.
“Most people in our communities do not know much about their rights and are unable to practice them. I just want to make a difference to people,” he said.
