Tembisa youngsters graduate with new skills
Students who completed their skills courses and trades in electrical and hospitality fields through the Lesedi Programme of the Peermont Education Trust, received graduations certificates recently.
The awards took place at Emperors Palace. Among the graduates were 11 students from Tembisa.
Apart from different courses, the trust offers a three year learnership for electricians, spending a total of R2-million annually.
The training provided is all accredited and students are offered the opportunity to apply for a management qualification or to complete their trade tests.
The Trustees provide life skills training for students and assist them with job seeking skills, which ensures a positive and successful outcome of the programme.
Through this training, South Africa’s skills shortages are being addressed and the unemployed are being given a chance to become gainfully employed.
The Tembisa students who graduated in the hospitality field include Simon Mabotja, Dion Maepa, Nhlanhla Nkambule, Kgomotso Moja, Janet Sithole.
The Tembisa students who graduated from the electrical learnership courses include Sandile Nkabinde, Kagiso Molefe, Njabulo Skosana, Tshepo Mbhalati, Sboniso Myeni and Clinton Sekake.
