Two more suspects arrested for mall heist

Four others have been released as no evidence could be found against them

TWO more men were arrested in connection with the attempted cash-in-transit heist at Birch Acres Mall on May 23, while four others, who were held for questioning, were released.

According to the spokesman for Norkem Park SAPS, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, the two men, aged 28 and 36, were arrested by the Norkem Park task team in Ebony Park in Midrand at about 3pm on May 29.

The two suspects joined the other six during a court appearance in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where four of the men were released as no evidence was found against them.

The case of the remaining four was postponed to June 10 to give them time to either get themselves representation or be assigned a state lawyer.
