A 15-year-old teenager was caught stealing R45 worth of mascara at Click’s in Birch Acres Mall.
Spokesman for Norkem Park SAPS, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said the girl was arrested on May 30 after the alarm signal went off at the exit of the stall.
Upon being searched by security, the teenager was found in possession of unpaid Essence maximum length volume mascara.
She was later released by police and place under the supervision of her parents. She appeared in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court where she faced a charge of shoplifting.
The case was handed over to social workers to conduct preliminary investigations.
