According to the Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Constable Tebogo Sesing, the victim was allegedly threatened with a sharp knife before being raped by the suspect.
“It is believed the victim visited her boyfriend in Tembisa, after returning from Johannesburg. They had an argument which led to her leaving her boyfriend’s house. While waiting for a taxi, the suspect approached her and started arguing with her, trying to force her to return to his house,” he said.
Constable Sesing said the victim went to the suspect’s house, where the suspect offered her a room to sleep.
“She claimed the suspect threatened her with a knife and then raped her. It is believed the suspect ordered the victim to leave in the early hours of the morning. We are happy with the arrest. We urge residents to refrain from walking unaccompanied on the street,” said Const Sesing.
