Man arrested for possession of illegal ammunition

The Tembisa SAPS arrested a 32-year-old man for being in possession of illegal live ammunition at Madelakufa, Extension 1, on Wednesday last week.

According to the Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Constable Tebogo Sesing, a 28-year-old man came to the police station to open a case of intimidation.

“The victim claimed a man tried to force him to swallow a live bullet. It is believed the suspect went to the victim’s house and showed him the illegal ammunition. The police followed up and went to the suspect’s house, where they found the suspect and the ammunition,” said Const Sesing.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Tembisa Police Station.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on charges of the possession of illegal ammunition and intimidation.

“I am happy with the arrest. We still urge the community to continue giving us information about crime happening in the area. Let us work together to root out crime in Tembisa,” said Const Sesing.
