Makhosazane Dhladhla-Mavundla, ANC PR councillor in ward 91, also accused Moafrica Mohlakwane, communications liaison officer for the electrification project of the Esselen Park RDP houses, of chasing away ANC members during a project meeting.
Mohlakwane denies this, claiming that certain conduct by Dhladhla-Mavundla was against community meeting rules and the public itself was unhappy with what she was doing.
“There are certain rules and regulations that have to be adhered to during public community meetings, one of which is that no one, especially council members, is allowed to wear their party uniform. Community meetings are about involving everyone and not about political divisions.
“Dhladhla-Mavundla attended the meeting wearing her party uniform.
“Furthermore, during her address to the community, she told them that the electrification project was initiated by the ANC. Community members then asked her to address them as a community and to be sensitive of the fact that the community consisted of different political affiliations, not just the ANC, or leave the meeting and not address them at all,” Mohlakwane said.
