A man who was caught hiding in the ceiling of a building he intended to break into, did not do it good enough.
He was arrested on June 9 and appeared in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court facing charges of business breaking and possession of house breaking implements.
Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesman for Norkem Park SAPS, said officers received a complaint about a business burglary taking place at a business centre on the corner of Mooifontein and Strydom streets in Birchleigh North at 3.30am.
“Upon arrival at the scene a security guard on duty informed the police he saw two men walking on top of the roof of the centre,” Molokomme said.
“The police discovered some of the roof tiles had been removed. The officers searched the premises and found one of the suspects hiding in the ceiling.”
The burglar, 26, was also found in possession of house breaking implements, including a crowbar, axe saw and pliers.
Police are still searching for the other two suspects who escaped from the scene.
