A 27-year-old man was arrested on Friday night shortly after he had robbed a man in the parking area near KFC in Glen Acres Shopping Centre.
“The victim and the suspect were in KFC at about 9.15pm. It is alleged that the suspect stepped on the victim’s foot. The victim asked the suspect to apologise which he failed to do and they went their separate ways,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesman.
When the victim went outside, he was allegedly followed by the suspect who stepped on him and another man. The men then suddenly assaulted him and he was robbed off his cell phone.
“The victim was rescued by a security officer and a police vehicle, which was patrolling in the area, was called to the scene. The victim was able to point out his assailant and the man was arrested while his accomplice managed to escape.
