Three nabbed with R2 000 worth of airtime

The men were arrested during a stop and search in the CBD

THREE men were arrested on Long Street on Friday afternoon after they were found in possession of 20 boxes of MTN airtime vouchers worth about R2 000.

“Kempton Park SAPS members were conducting a stop and search around Kempton Park CBD when they received information about three suspicious men on Long Street carrying a large bag,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesman.

The men were stopped and the bag was searched by Const Leslie Ramodike and Det Edward Mohlala, who found the 20 boxes containing the airtime vouchers.

“When questioned, the three suspects could not explain how they obtained the goods and were subsequently arrested,” said Mtshali.

The men will be charged with possession of stolen goods.
