Police station precincts change with new station opening

All the new Birch Acres extensions will now be policed by Tembisa South Police Station

WITH the recent opening of Tembisa South Police Station, the jurisdiction areas of Norkem Park SAPS and Sebenza SAPS will changeAll new Birch Acres extensions, including some houses situated along Watertrapper, Krombek and Piet-My-Vrou streets, are now being policed by Tembisa South Police Station, according to Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme.

The rezoning of the policing area, which became effective on June 18, will also see areas such as the Birch Acres extensions and the area around Mooifontein Cemetery, which were previously policed by Norkem Park SAPS, now being watched over by the new Tembisa station.

The new station is situated in Thafeni Section at the corner of Zephenia Msebenzi Mathebula and Brien Mazibuko Drive.

“We also expect certain areas of Norkem Park to be monitored by Sebenza SAPS and Tembisa SAPS soon, such as Kempton Park West on the southern side of Zuurfontein Road up to Knock Street opposite Klipfonteinview and the Esselen Park RDP houses to Tembisa,” Molokomme said.

Norkem Park Police Station will start monitoring Edleen on the northern side of CR Swart Drive.
