Suspect arrested for possession of dagga
During the police's drugs and alcohol awareness campaign on Saturday last week, the Rabie Ridge SAPS and its CPF arrested a man who was allegedly found in possession of dagga.
The arrest was made at the Sethokga Hostel.
According to the Rabie Ridge SAPS spokesperson, Constable Jacob Mhlongo, the police received a tip-off from residents about the dagga which was being sold in the hostel.
“The police and other stakeholders immediately attended and found the suspect. Officers searched the suspect’s room and found 33 packets of dagga. The suspect was arrested and detained at the Tembisa SAPS,” said Const Mhlongo.
The residents were thanked for their support in fighting against crime in the area.
“We are still encouraging residents to report crime. Give us more information so that we can fight against the use of drugs in the communities,” said Const Mhlongo.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
