Couple arrested, stolen car found
A young couple was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle on Wednesday evening.
The suspects, a man and woman, were driving the stolen vehicle when the tracker signal was activated.
The VW Polo was reported as stolen from Ivory Park last Wednesday.
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Crime Prevention Task Team members followed the tracker’s signal and the couple’s joy-ride was ended at the intersection of Loop Vas and Moses Mabhida streets in Extension 6, Ivory Park.
The 28-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were arrested and detained at the Ivory Park SAPS.
Both suspects are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
