
According to the Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Constable Tebogo Sesing, a 30-year-old man claimed he had a heated argument with the suspect after returning from the a maintenance hearing in court.
“Both the suspect and victim returned to the shack when they argued. It is believed the suspect took paraffin and used it to set fire to the victim’s shack. The police attended to the scene and the suspect was arrested. She was detained at the Tembisa SAPS,” he said.
Const Sesing added that the suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on charges of arson.
“We are urging residents to not resort to violence if they have differences. Rather come to the police station and we will refer you to the relevant people,” he said.
