The arrest took place on Wednesday night, last week.
The Tembisa SAPS received a tip off about two suspects who were possibly selling stolen cooking equipment.
According to the Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Constable Tebogo Sesing, the police responded to the information and confronted the suspects.
“The pair was found in possession of a frying pan. The police requested proof of ownership and the suspects failed to produce any. During the police’s investigation, the officers established that the frying pan was stolen in a business robbery committed at Matikweni Nkuna on Tuesday last week,” he said.
Const Sesing added that both suspects were arrested and detained at the Tembisa Police Station. They are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
“I am happy with the arrest. We urge the community to continue giving us information about the crime happening in the area. Remember, you are the eyes and ears of the police. Let us work together to combat crime,” said the Tembisa SAPS acting station commander, Colonel Nthipe Boloka.
