Seven robbers wanted
The Tembisa SAPS is looking for seven suspects who robbed a Somalian businessman of R6 000 and two cellphones on Wednesday.
It is believed that police officers who were patrolling the area saw people running in all directions as if they were being chased.
The officers then saw three men armed with an AK 47, R5 rifle and a pistol.
The three men started shooting at the police officers. The officers exited their vehicle and took cover.
The thieves fled the scene after the robbery.
The Tembisa Cluster’s communications director, Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha, is appealing to residents with information to contact the nearest police station.
“I am also calling on residents to not try and arrest the suspects if they see them because they are armed and dangerous. Residents must call the police and we will do the rest,” he said.
