Suspected drug dealers caught in Edleen

One of the men was found in possession of more than 1kg of dagga alone

THREE men, one of them with over 1.5kg of dagga, were arrested by patrolling Sebenza SAPS sector vehicles.

In the first incident, a 25-year-old man was arrested on Harris Avenue in Sebenza by Const Mashele after being searched and found with dagga and and what is believed to be Cat.

Sebenza SAPS spokesman, Const Sharon Mahamba, said the arrest took place at about 10.40am on August 15, when the constable spotted the man in a white Hyndai parked on the side of the road.

“The man looked suspicious because as soon as he saw the police vehicle approaching, he nervously hid something inside the car.”

Upon being searched, a black container containing two transparent plastic bags was found. The one plastic bag contained 1.6kg worth of dagga and the second bag 0.5kg of Cat.

In a separate incident, a man was arrested on the same day at about 2.30pm for being in possession of dagga.

“The 29-year-old suspect was arrested by Const Mlambo who was patrolling along Green Avenue in Edleen. The man was driving a suspicious looking white Golf, also looking very nervous.”

Upon being searched, he was found in possession of a small plastic bag containing 0.58 grams of marijuana.

In the third incident the following day, a 26-year-old man was found with 0.89 grams of marijuana.

“The man was walking along CR Swart Drive in Edleen at about 11.10am when officers asked to search him. Upon searching him, he was found to be in possession of dagga.”

Const Seshoene was the arresting officer.
