Edleen murder investigation leads to arrest of a 28-year-old woman

The woman faces various charges after she was found with two unlicensed guns, a stolen car and a police hand radio

THE investigation into a four-year-old Edleen murder case lead Norkem Park SAPS to a woman’s house where an array of housebreaking tools and illegal guns were found.

The police raided the 28-year-old woman’s Kaalfontein RDP home on August 19 where they found two unlicensed guns, 25 rounds of live ammunition, a stolen car, a police hand radio in good working condition with a spare battery, house breaking tools, two pairs of hand gloves and cable ties.

According to the station’s spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, W/O Kenny Mthembu was led to the women’s home at about 2am after following clues in a 2010 murder case. In January of that year a man was shot dead during a house robbery in Edleen.

The stolen car found, a white Audi A3, was reported stolen in Kimberley in September 2013.

The woman faces charges of possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition, a stolen motor vehicle and house breaking implements.

The police are expecting other arrests soon.
