Kelvin Road cash robber wanted by Kempton SAPS

The victim was on her way to Festival Mall to deposit R5 300 cash on behalf of the company she works for

KEMPTON Park SAPS is looking for a man for stealing the handbag of a woman who was on her way to deposit money at a bank.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesman for Kempton Park SAPS, the victim was on her way to a bank at Festival Mall on July 4 at about 3.10pm. The victim alleges that as she was walking along Kelvin Street, she noticed two males on the opposite side of the road, seated.

“One of them made their way to her and grabbed her handbag. As she fought back, the second one also made his way towards her, grabbed the bag and ran away into the open veld opposite Builder’s Warehouse,” Mtshali said.

The woman’s bag contained the R5 300, which belonged to her company, her bank cards, ID book, a bank book and deposit slips.

One of the suspects is dark in complexion, tall, medium build and is about 34-35 years old. He was calm and spoke in isiZulu and wore a red t-shirt, a blue jacket and navy jeans. He is wanted for common robbery.
