Bad smell leads to discovery of decomposing body

The Ivory Park SAPS detectives arrested a 37-year-old man in Bolobedu, Limpopo, for allegedly killing his girlfriend in Ivory Park, Extension 10, two weeks ago.

The suspect was detained on Wednesday last week.

According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, the body of a 38-year-old woman was found in a room at Ivory Park on Wednesday last week. The victim’s boyfriend disappeared for two weeks.

“It is believed the incident may have happened the week before the victim’s boyfriend disappeared. The residents residing in the yard where the incident happened claims to notice a bad smell coming from the victim’s room. Concerned residents managed to gain entry and discovered the decomposing remains of the victim,” said W/O Sekgobela told The Tembisan.

Police officers were called and a murder case was opened.

“The police received information suggesting the murder victim’s boyfriend may be a suspect. The officers investigating believed the suspect was hiding in his homeland in Shamfane Village, Bolobedu, in Limpopo. The officers headed to Limpopo and found the suspect. He was arrested and detained at the Ivory Park SAPS,” said W/O Sekgobela.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
