THREE men trying to carry away a garage door they stole, were apprehended by Norkem Park SAPS.
The suspects were walking along Joseph Street in Birchleigh and failed to give police an account of where they found the door, Norkem Park SAPS spokesman Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said.
While the officers were on the scene, the owner arrived and identified the door as stolen from his yard.
“The owner was not at home and said he was phoned by his tenant who informed him that he had seen three men jumping over his fence carrying the garage door,” he explained.
The three suspects, aged between 25 and 42, were arrested and appeared in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of theft and possession of stolen property.
