Just Ice launches album
The Tembisa-based reggae artist, Justice Mbedzi, affectionately known as Just Ice, launched his latest album at Mvelaphanda Primary School on Saturday last week.
Fellow artists travelled from as far as Thohoyandou in Limpopo to support him during the launch.
His latest album is called Ndi do farerelela kha tshone Tshifhambano.
During the launch, he wowed locals with songs from his previous albums and had reggae fans jumping up and down when he belted out songs like Zwifhinga na Zwikhathi and the tittle track on his latest album, which is also called Ndi do farelela kha tshone tshifhambano.
Even though he is a reggae artist, he does not smoke dagga and he does not drink alcohol.
“I am a born-again Christian, and let me tell you, singing reggae does not mean you have to smoke ganja. It is just the music genre that I like and enjoy,” he said.
He added that as a Christian, he makes sure there is a gospel song on his albums.
“Wherever we are, whatever we do, we must always remember that God is the creator of heaven and earth. He is the reason why we are here today. Let Jah be praised,” he said.
Some of the well known artists who performed on the day included the Burning Doctor and Lufuno Nematoka.
