Vegaboys to visit South Africa
The European super group, The Vengaboys, will be visiting South Africa in December for four shows.
Come party with The Vengaboys on the following dates:
- 12 December 2014 – Carnival City (Johannesburg/Brakpan).
- 13 December 2014 – Carnival City (Johannesburg/Brakpan).
- 14 December 2014 – Grand West Arena (Cape Town).
- 15 December 2014 – Boardwalk Casino (Port Elizabeth).
In 1998, the world was introduced to the uplifting sounds of the Vengaboys.
Delivering multi-platinum pop-dance hits back-to-back with Up & Down, We Like To Party!, Boom Boom Boom Boom!, We’re going to Ibiza and many more. The Vengaboys reached the top of the charts in over 20 countries, including the UK, Germany, Benelux, Spain, South Africa, Thailand, Poland, Australia and Mexico.
Blond bombshell Denice said, “The Vengaboys story was a total adventure. It took us around the world in what seemed like a non-stop fun-fest.”
In 1999 it was America’s turn. Up & Down and We Like To Party stormed into first place in the Billboard dance charts.
The group’s debut album, Greatest Hits!, reached USA gold status and they were nominated for an MTV Best Breakthrough of the Year award.
To promote the single, Kiss (When The Sun Don’t Shine), the group organised a world record longest kiss that currently stands at 29 hours.
The Vengaboys received the TMF Award for Best Dance Act and receive a prize for being Holland’s most successful export product that year. And the hits kept coming.
Shalala lala, Kiss (When the sun don’t shine) and Uncle John From Jamaica all reached the top five in numerous countries.
The group embarked on a world tour through the US, Australia, Japan and South America. Then, after releasing a ballad as their goodbye single, the group called it quits and was ready for retirement.
Not a real crazy idea after selling 20 million singles and five million albums.
But you know how it is; a vacation is nice, but after some time it’s even better to get working again. The Vengaboys recently started touring again and are working on a new single, which was released.
Rocket to Uranus was a big hit. And the successful story continues.
Bookings can be made at Computicket.
