MML Security’s armed response units arrested five suspected house robbers in an hour on Sunday October 19 between 10.30am and 11.30am.
Three arrests were made in Glen Marais, one in Aston Manor and another in Allen Grove.
Wiekus Roos said one suspect admitted to breaking in, and when questioned, told the officers they targeted houses on Sundays when people were at church.
Roos said their control room was informed of the break-ins in Glen Marais by residents.
In Allen Grove, where the targeted house was in a gated community, security pressed the panic button. In Aston Manor people working on the property called the control room.
The officers involved in the five arrests were Roos, Stephen Steyn, Chris Kallis and Rudi Botes.
Roos said the thieves did not get away with anything, although they did retrieve a key chain with a lot of keys from one of the suspects.
If you lost your keys or they were stolen, call MML on 011-972-9115.
