A man was arrested on Tuesday after damaging his ex-girlfriend’s house and cars with two axes.Norkem Park SAPS arrested the male suspect (36) for malicious damage to property and possession of dagga at his ex-girlfriend’s house on Piet-My-Vrou Street in Birch Acres.
According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, police responded to a complaint at the address and found the suspect in action.
“He was damaging burglar bars and two cars on the premises using two axes. His actions seemed somehow abnormal,” said Molokomme.
“Police managed to calm the suspect down and upon searching him, found two small plastic bags with dagga valued at about R30.”
Molokomme said the female complainant alleged that following an argument, she had asked the suspect to leave her place.
“Instead he allegedly got into his car and started drinking brandy and smoking dagga. He then got out the car and started damaging the property,” he explained.
The estimated damage to the property is about R20 000.
