ONE suspect had been arrested after being caught red handed by Norkem Park SAPS digging out copper cables in Chloorkop.According Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, the incident took place last week Wednesday at about 1am on Nuwejaarsvoël Street.
The arrest was made by a security officer from Combined Private Investigation who was patrolling around the Chloorkop industrial area at the time.
“He spotted three male suspects digging out copper cables. As he approached them, two of the suspects managed to escape while the one was apprehended in possession of a shovel and pick used during the crime,” explained Molokomme.
Norkem Park SAPS was called to the scene and the suspect was handed to them and detained for attempted cable theft.
