THE killer of a Kempton Park mother, who was stabbed to death in front of her daughters, will be sentenced in the Randburg High Court today.
Kgothatso Clement Ramawele (25) was earlier convicted of killing Anne-Marie van Zyl (33) at her place of work in Spartan on March 8.
Ramawela, a former employee of the company Trio Data, where Van Zyl worked, confronted her at about 7.30am in the presence of her daughters (9 and 6 at the time).
Judge Solly Sithole, at an earlier appearance, convicted Ramawele of aggravated robbery and murder with intent.
Ramawele throughout insisted he did not plan her murder but that she used the k-word during their encounter. He also denied bringing the murder weapon with him.
He further denied stealing a red cash box from the company and that he had left a bloody note at the scene of the crime.
“Why did you cancel my contract? Did you think about my children?” were some of the remarks in the note.
Ramawele and Van Zyl both worked at Trio Data until he resigned two months prior to the murder. When he wanted to come back, head office refused to re-employ him.
