Sangoma cons teacher out of R260 000
A 50-year-old teacher from Zimbabwe was conned out of R260 000 by a sangoma in Teanong section recently.

According to the Tembisa SAPS Cluster’s communications director, Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha, it is believed the teacher was asked to hand over the cash which was to be deposited to foreign donors. The foreign donors would then, in turn, give the victim R2-million at a later stage.
The teacher believed the sangoma’s story and handed the cash to the sangoma, known as Baba Issa.
When the teacher went to the sangoma to inquire about the R2-million, he was told the sangoma had moved the previous month and his whereabouts were unknown.
The teachers also said the sangoma is no longer answering his phone.
“A case of theft was opened at the Tembisa Police Station and police investigations are continuing,” said Captain Ralidzhivha.
