A DA councillor escaped injury on Monday morning after she was shot at by perpetrators at her Tembisa home.
Refiloe Nt’sheke (MPL), DA Constituency Head: Tembisa, said the DA demanded swift police action.
Clr Nomsa Baba was shot at at around 3am. Luckily she saw them in time and managed to duck away before the shots were fired, and escaped through the back of the house unharmed.
The perpetrators made off with a plasma screen television.
“The mere fact that criminals openly carry firearms and brazenly open fire on law-abiding citizens as they go about their lives is proof of how the province’s security situation has deteriorated,” Nt’sheke said.
Just last week the DA handed over a memorandum of demand to National Police Commissioner over the state of policing in South Africa, calling for a revision of the National Policing Plan.
